Sacramento, CA — Nation’s Finest-Sacramento, a local organization that serves Veterans, is excited to announce the completion of its “Community Roots” Project in partnership with The Home Depot Foundation through the Florin Road Home Depot. The project aims to revitalize the landscaping and garden at the Nation’s Finest Sacramento campus with the help of volunteers from Team Depot, Nation’s Finest staff members, Veteran clients, Fair Oaks Recovery Center, and The Maharlika Lions Club.

The ribbon cutting will take place on Friday, May 12 from 9 AM – 12 PM at Nation’s Finest-Sacramento, located at 7270 East Southgate Drive, Sacramento, CA 95823.

The newly restored outdoor space will provide an opportunity to promote food sustainability, social and mental engagement, and nutritional education for the local Veterans we serve. The garden will feature seasonal, organic crops to use year-round in our Veteran-focused nutrition program while providing a therapeutic, holistic, and educational environment for Veterans to grow their own food and connect with one another.

“We are thrilled to see the completion of the ‘Community Roots’ Project and to have the opportunity to serve Veterans in new ways. At Nation’s Finest, we continuously strive to provide innovative and impactful programs that make a positive difference in our communities,” says Amy Childers, Site Director at Nation’s Finest-Sacramento.

We invite you to join us at the ribbon-cutting ceremony to learn more about the Community Roots Project, hear from community leaders, and witness the impact this project will have on our local Veterans. Representatives from Nation’s Finest will be available to interview, and the event is open to media. Please coordinate interviews or request to learn more using the contact information below.
